Several hotels near the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts SRI 2003 meeting site have set aside blocks of rooms for conference attendees. To receive the conference rate, please contact the hotel of your choice to make a reservation and tell them you will be attending the SRI 2003 meeting.

Note: The cutoff date for making reservations at the hotels listed below is July 25, 2003.
Please make your reservations as soon as possible! Reserving hotel rooms in San Francisco during the summer months can be extremely difficult and expensive. As soon as the blocked rooms are full, local hotels cannot guarantee additional rooms or the conference room rates. (Our blocks of rooms at the Marriott and Sheraton Palace hotels are no longer available.)

Other AccomModations

Please note that the ALS Apartments and the SLAC Guest House are not suitable for families.

The ALS Apartments at Berkeley Lab, Berkeley--SOLD OUT

Beds in shared apartments managed by the ALS are available in downtown Berkeley. The apartments are in walking distance to the Berkeley BART station. Travel time to the conference site from the Berkeley station is about 35 minutes.

Each apartment has two bedrooms, each of which has two beds and can accommodate one or two people. The 2003 rate for a single-occupancy room is $70/night, and the cost for double occupancy is $40/night per person. A two-night minimum is required for all reservations. In addition to two bedrooms, the apartment suite consists of a shared bath, a kitchen, and a living area. Included in the rental cost are linens, cookware and dishes, a weekly cleaning service, cable television, and a local-calls telephone. All apartments are nonsmoking.

The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) Guest House at Stanford University, Palo Alto

The new SLAC Guest House is scheduled to open in June of 2003. There are several price options for staying at the Guest House.

One bunk bed with a roommate, $32.50 per person (Smaller room)
One full-sized bed, $50 (Smaller room)
One queen-sized bed, $65 (Larger room)
Two full-sized beds, $80 (Larger room)

Travel time from Stanford to the SRI 2003 meeting site is about 45 minutes. Round-trip daily bus transportation can be arranged from SLAC to the Yerba Buena Center for an additional $14.00 per day per person.
